CTL Workshop: Rubric Development

By developing a rubric for students to use as a tool throughout an assignment, educators provide the scaffolding necessary to improve the quality of student work and increase the knowledge that students acquire. Rubrics also provide an increased efficiency in grading for the grader, and a perception of fairness and transparency in grading to students. Rubrics can be designed and reused for written assignments (i.e., research papers), oral presentations and other assignment types.
In this session, we will explore how to create an effective rubric. We will also provide many examples of rubrics which can be edited for future use.
