FASS Three Minute Thesis Faculty Heat

March 7 at 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The clock is ticking—you only have three minutes to tell an audience about your research and why it is significant. Are you up for the challenge?

What if we told you there was $6,000 in prize money up for grabs?

3MT is a great opportunity to highlight the significance of your research and its impact on the world to a panel of judges and an audience of your peers. Not only will you gain valuable presentation experience, it’s really fun to participate and hear about the other research happening on our campus.

All graduate students in a thesis-based program are invited and encouraged to compete in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) Three Minute Thesis heat.

When: March 7
Time: 5 to 8 PM
Where: SCI 333

The winners of this heat will then advance to the UBC Okanagan final event on April 9 at the Mary Irwin Theatre for a chance to progress to the Western Regional competition.

Come out and showcase the amazing work you’re doing (or are planning on doing) in our program. Of course, if you’re further along in your research you’ll have more to talk about, but 3MT is really about presentation skills and how you convey your research, so even if you are in the first year of your program please consider signing up.
