AI: Beyond the Code

March 26 at 5:15 pm - 9:00 pm

Artificial Intelligence is not coming, it’s HERE. Join us for the dynamic and entertaining docuseries AI: Beyond the Code which delves into the transformative impact artificial intelligence is having on humanity.

Discover the latest advancements in AI technology and explore how it is shaping our future. From fighting wild fires to taking over weapons systems, this event will take you beyond the code and into the world of possibilities that AI offers.

Through expert interviews and real-world examples, the series paints a complex portrait of a rapidly evolving technology that could redefine the future of humanity, for better or worse.

The first two episodes of the six episode docuseries feature UBCO Professor of Psychology Liane Gabora. Dr. Gabora is an interdisciplinary cognitive scientist whose research focuses on how culture evolves, how creative processes work—both natural and artificial—and how creativity fuels the evolution of culture.

The film also features Abhishek Rakshit, who will be defending their thesis “Building an Artificial Intelligence Powered Metaphor-Based Visualizer for Human Self-Understanding” as part of a Master of Arts degree in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies Digital Arts & Humanities theme.

The schedule for the film screening is as follows:

5:15 pm—Episode 1 (with Liane Gabora and Abhishek Rakshit)
6 pm—Episode 2 (with Liane Gabora and Abhishek Rakshit)
