Hair Care Workshop: Braidology 101
February 3–5, 2025, 3–5 pm  in LIB 306

This three-day workshop is dedicated to empowering the Black student body with essential hairstyling skills. In collaboration with local expert stylists in the city, this workshop will provide hands-on training in basic hairstyles, along with practical tips for caring for Black hair.

Sankofa and UBC: A Panel Discussion

In honour of Black History Month, the College of Graduate Studies is hosting a panel discussion on this year’s Black History Month theme: Sankofa (Sahn-koh-fah).

Rhythm and Stews: Something About the Blues
March 21, 2025, 6–9 pm in the Ballroom (UNC 200)

A story of intercultural and interdisciplinary engagements. Sharing and celebrating the works of Russel Jackson, legendary Blues artist, and the work of culinary artist Jazmine Cordova, and bringing together the rhythm (music) and the stews (the food).
