tanisi – way’ – Hello,

Members of UBC Okanagan Library, Indigenous Programs and Services, and The Office of the Principal and Deputy Vice-Chancellor are collaborating to present an Indigenous Reads Book Club, with an open invitation to all who would like to engage in some collective reading!

Over the fall, they will cover two books: Moon of the Crusted Snow by Waubgeshig Rice and Unsettling Canada: A National Wake-up Call by Arthur Manuel with two discussion dates for each book.

Moon of the Crusted Snow

  • October 6
2 to 3:30 pm (In Person)
  • November 1
    2 to 3:30 pm (Online)

Unsettling Canada: A National Wake-up Call

  • November 29
2 to 3:30 pm (In Person)
  • December 13
    2 to 3:30 pm (Online)

The books are available as an eBook with a limited number of physical copies available through the library. Four meeting times are offered, two in person and two online over Zoom. Coffee, tea, and snacks will be provided for the in-person meetings.

The campus community is welcome to participate in whatever way works best for them, whether that is by attending in-person or virtual meetings or asynchronously through the Canvas course discussion boards – participants do not need to attend all sessions. Participants are asked to come prepared for respectful discussion.
