Pop-Up Free Store
March 6 at 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

The Action for Climate Team (ACT) presents our spring Pop-Up Free Store! In partnership with Swap Not Shop hosted by the Sustainability Living Learning Community in Residence Life, we have an assortment of free items in the Nechako Gathering Room to help you support a sustainable lifestyle, contribute to a circular economy, save some money, AND look fashionable doing it!
ACT volunteers have been collecting your donations of gently used clothing and household items, and now is the time to redistribute them in our community. The Pop-Up Free Store is open to anyone, free of charge.
This is a drop-in event, so come and browse through our racks, try a few things on, and take what you want or need – interaction is optional! The room will be staffed by student volunteers who are happy to help or simply chat about the initiative if you’re curious.
Note: Noise level may vary depending on the number of shoppers/swappers.
What else can you expect?
- Seamless Fashion Club will be hosting a repair station during parts of the Pop-Up Free Store, so stop by for a quick lesson on how to patch and repair the clothes you love so you can keep wearing them!
- ACT volunteers will also be hosting an interactive information booth (with little treats and fun stickers) if you would like to take a few minutes to learn about sustainability and the fast fashion industry, or if you have questions about how to get involved in projects like this store.
