Queer Consent Workshop

September 16 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

This one-hour interactive workshop will take you through the building blocks of consent. This workshop is meant specifically for anyone who identifies as a member of the 2SLGBTQIA community. We will talk about what healthy consent practices look like and how to be a respectful sexual and romantic partner. We will talk about some of the complicated ways that consent is practiced outside of typical heterosexual sexual scripts. How do we talk about our desires? How do we set boundaries? How do we explore outside of the boundaries of normative sex and gender?

Registration is appreciated and lunch will be provided.

Content Warning: This training will discuss sexualized and gender-based violence because sexual activity without consent is sexual violence. We will be addressing this difficult topic from the perspective of how to prevent violence through good consent practices and healthy sexual and romantic communication.

If you have any questions or concerns about this workshop please do not hesitate to reach out to pride.ubco@ubc.ca.
