SMP Teacher Certificate Program: Learning Context

The Southern Medical Program Teacher Certificate Program is designed for physicians teaching medical students, residents in clinical or didactic environments, and focuses on improving teaching skills and creating an optimal learning environment.

The Teacher Certificate Program includes five workshops: Active Learning, Learning Relationships, Learning Context, Assessment, Feedback and Reflection.

Learning Context

Learning objectives:

• Effectively teach in the format best aligned with teaching goals.
• Use strategies to maximize the learning opportunities specific to the context (practice-based, classroom-based, self-directed learning).
• Match content and responsibility to the level of the learner.
