Queer Zine Fair with hands and cut out lettters

Kelowna’s second annual Queer Zine Fair is hosted by Kelowna Museums and the UBC Okanagan Library at the beautiful Laurel Packinghouse on June 5 from 6 to 8 pm.

The queer zine fair will showcase and celebrate zines created by 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals or focusing on 2SLGBTQIA+ themes. Queer artists, writers, and creatives can sign up for free to sell, trade, or give away their zines.

SIGN UP TO BE AN EXHIBITOR

Zines have been a powerful underground and DIY force of expression and cultural movement in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community since the 1970s. Newbies are invited to come learn more! At 8:15 pm, the fair will be followed by an open mic where attendees or exhibitors will be invited to further share their creativity.

No registration is necessary to attend the fair.

Contact Donna Langille Open Education Librarian at donna.langille@ubc.ca with any questions or concerns.
